Indonesian Corner
Melbourne is a multicultural city in the heart of Victoria. Lots of people from different cultures and backgrounds live here. As you walk around the city, you can find a huge variety of restaurants serving food from different countries around the world. This time I reviewed some Indonesian restaurants around Melbourne. Indonesian food has a rich taste of spices, especially the sambal taste. If you like hot and spicy food, try some Indonesian food. Dare yourself with the spiciness!
Bali Bagus is a quite new Indonesian restaurant, which is located at 85 Franklin St, Melbourne, Vic. This restaurant serves traditional Balinese and Javanese dishes. One of the signature dishes is "Iga Penyet". It is roasted beef served with rice and sambal. You can choose the spiciness level of the sambal.
Another dishes that is worth to try is Ketoprak, which comes from Jakarta. It is white vermicelli added with bean sprout and fried tofu, served with special peanut sauce. It is a quite famous hawker food in Jakarta.
If you like to try Indonesian traditional side dish, you can have Tahu Gejrot. It is simply fried tofu served with special sauce made of brown sugar, garlic and chili. Worth to try if you just want to have snack.
Salero Kito
From Balinese and Javanese food, we go to Padang (West Sumatra) food. There is a newly opened Padang restaurant named Salero Kito. It is located in 21-23 Waverley Road, Malvern East, Vic. They served authentic Padang cuisine which is famous for its spiciness. Here you can choose combination of dishes with rice. Besides that, they also serve some special dishes, such as Ayam Pop, Sate Padang, and many more. Don't forget to ask for Sambal Ijo when you eat here. It's a big must!

When you go to Melbourne, don't forget to go to one of the cupcake shops in the QV Center. The name of the shop is The Cupcake Family. It is located in the ground floor along the QV entry alley from the Swanston street. There are wide range of cupcakes which are decorated beautifully. Not only famous for cupcakes, they are also famous for their Macaroons. Visit the shop and try one of their cupcakes or macaroons!
